Galapagos Hotels

Extend Your Cruise: Amazon Rainforest » Cloudforest » Quito » Northern and Southern Andes » Galapagos and Pacific »

For guests who wish to extend their stay in Galapagos we’ve hand picked our favourite hotels in Santa Cruz Island (where most cruises start or end). The Island is one of the best places to see Giant Tortoises in the wild, as well as being home to giant lava tubes, giant sunken craters filled with forests of giant daisies (Scalesia), white sandy beaches like Tortuga Bay with its beautiful mangrove lagoon and the Garapata beach

Santa Cruz Island is also home to the best Galapagos scuba diving operator for those wishing to dive, but don’t want 8-days on a live-aboard.

Guayaquil Hotels

Guayaquil is the best place to start and end your Galapagos trip if you are unable to travel to Quito for health reasons (high altitude). It is also a great option if time is an issue with Iberia operating flights to Europe from Guayaquil every evening, this means you can fly home on the same day your Galapagos trip ends.

Guayaquil is also an interesting city in itself and the coastal area around the city is well worth a visit in its own right with fascinating culture and beautiful wildlife.
