The beautiful River Tomebamba runs past the foot of this 50 year old hotel. The rooms are comfortable with traditional furniture and have great views across the river. The staff at the hotel are very welcoming and helpful. Good location, just 15 minutes walk to the centre of town with a number of nearby restaurants and bars.

A short drive from the city are facinating and colourful indigenous communities where you can see some of the worlds best ‘Panama’ Hats being woven in the same way they have for centuries.

In the Old Town, you will find Parque Calderón and other colonial parks and plazas, neighbourhoods that date back to the first days of the Spanish conquest of the area, and religious art museums showcasing some of Ecuador’s most impressive artwork. The most impressive of the city’s many museums are as follows: Banco Central, Casa de la Cultura, Conceptas Convent, Remigio Crespo Toral, Artes Populares de América, Arte Moderno, and Instituto Azuayo de Folclore.
As a result of its rich cultural heritage Cuenca was chosen as the Cultural Capital of the Americas in 2002

La Casona Restaurant, has great views across the river Tomebamba and offers a range of international cuisine. They also have a café menu with a variety of sandwiches served with freshly squeezed fruit juices. The hotel also has a bar, El Alambique which has a good selection of drinks.

The Hotel is within walking distance of the central plaza "Parque Calderón", museums and churches, the perfect base to explore the city of Cuena, a UNESCO World Heritage with beautiful colonial architecture, churches and plazas, modern art gallery.
